Disturbing Thoughts
My beloved uncle sent me an electronic article that has made me step back and assess my views in relation to the world we live in and the potential future in store for us. Unfortunately I don’t like what my logic is telling me. One can hope that I am wrong but something tells me I’m not. I don’t understand the economics in play except for the concept of supply and demand. Manipulating the markets is beyond me.
I have a very simplistic view of the world … i.e. do a good job and get a fair wage. Pay taxes that are well spent on social needs that include health care, education and the environment.
Distribution of wealth needs to be defined. It’s my experience that those who can least afford it are the ones who contribute the most to charity. Those who are rich enough to make big philanthropic donations are doing it, for the most part, to garner position and prestige and awards for being generous.
Religious differences have been around for a very long time.
Economic problems are now becoming linked to religious divisions.
It’s truly sad.
Right-minded people are finding it difficult to accept cultures that suppress the human rights of women. How can I be expected to stand back and allow a 10 or 12 year old Somali girl to be mutilated prior to being married to an old man who is rich enough to take many wives whether she wishes it or not?
Why would I want to live in a country dripping in gold and jewels only to be unable to go to school and get an education because I am a female? I love driving. I wouldn’t be allowed to do that in many Arab States. I have personally witnessed Muslim men drinking alcohol and “going native” when outside their own countries and as far as I’m concerned they are hypocrites. But then again … we are infidels and they have no respect for us.
Not all Muslims are bad people. Not all Christians are either. But there are a lot of hypocrite’s around and they are making life on earth hell. Fundamentalism and radicalism has no place in the world today. We need to wise up and pull together otherwise we are gone.
Regardless of whom your God is or what your beliefs are.
Is it possible that your God is sending you a message through storms and tornadoes, floods and fires, famine and pestilence, war and death?
How would I know!
